Our Chapter was founded in 1986 and presently have around 200 members. Aging Life Care Professionals® are trained and experienced in any of several fields related to care management (social work, psychology, nursing, gerontology, physical therapy, occupational therapy) and/or an equivalent background caring for elders. Members hold certification from one of four certifying bodies recognized by ALCA.
Aging Life Care professionals specialize in assisting elders and families meet their care needs in a holistic way. We assess older adults and collaborate with our clients and families to develop appropriate and personal care plans. We understand the challenges of aging.
New England chapter members enjoy opportunities to connect with professional colleagues, providing a venue in which everyone “speaks the same language,” regardless of individual professional disciplines. In addition to sharing and learning from one another, we provide a variety of opportunities for educational and professional growth. We collaborate with agencies, consumers and other professionals. Our mission is to define and promote the highest standard of practice set by our profession.
